Highway 105 is a premier destination for fishing experiences.

There is no need for tall-tale fish stories, here you’ll find the real thing!  The fishing along Highway 105 is amongst the best you’ll find. Lakes and rivers of the area are teaming with a number of different species, including Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Muskie, Yellow Perch and Whitefish. Whether fishing the Red Lake chain of lakes, Lac Seul, Perrault Falls or a more remote location the quality of fishing will astound you time and time again and, with hundreds of lakes to choose from, there is plenty of variation.

Highway 105 is home to a multitude of resorts and lodges that offer everything an outdoor enthusiast would come to expect in a wilderness adventure, many of which are listed in our membership list. Whatever you desire, a wide variety of accommodations are available, ranging driveable resorts to remote outposts to camping facilities.  The resorts and lodges in our area provide the perfect blend of rustic and luxurious qualities – all the comforts of home in a remote wilderness setting. Although specializing in fishing and hunting, resorts along Highway 105 boast a tremendous list of activities to keep you busy during your stay, while at the same time offering an ideal atmosphere to just kickback and relax.

Lakes in the Hwy 105 region have the finest northern pike fishing on the continent, with waters where ducklings are nervous and 30-pounders (13.6 kg) prowl.

SMALLMOUTH BASS

Smallmouth bass can be found in the region and can provide some exciting angling as these fish love to jump!  Smallmouth are most active from late spring to late autumn and can usually be found in more open water or along rocky points, drop-offs, or shoals.

Though rare, muskie exceeding 70 pounds (31.8 kg) still roam our waters – so, in prime habitat, you never really know if you’re going to experience a relaxing day of fishing or set a new world record.

Hunting

Hunters travelling to the region will find a range of hunting opportunities. Area wild lands provide some of the best hunting for Moose, Black Bear and Whitetail Deer in North America. Highway 105 is famous for its ability to provide the hunter with a better than average chance to bag his trophy Moose or Bear. Both are plentiful and routinely seen along the scenic trip up Highway 105. Smaller game such as ducks and grouse help to round out a great hunting trip.
